U.S. President Barack Obama is sworn in during the public ceremony as First lady Michelle Obama looks on during the presidential inauguration on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol January 21, 2013 in Washington DC.
Barack Obama was re-elected for a second term as President of the United States.
Michelle Obama wore a Thom Browne coat and dress to Monday morning's inauguration ceremonies.
According to the Washington Post, New York-based designer Thom Browne is the man behind first lady Michelle Obama's navy, checkered coat and dress for inauguration day ceremonies Monday.
It's not exactly a red-carpet ceremony,
but President Barack Obama's second-term inauguration has an unmistakable Hollywood look.
There was a loud cheer for Beyonce and Jay-Z as they took their places at the Capitol on Monday to watch Obama take the public oath of office for his second term.
Actress Eva Longoria was seated on the platform outside the Capitol.
Also seated in the crowd were singer Katy Perry, wearing an orange coat, and John Mayer.
Musicians Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor were present as well, to perform at the inaugural ceremony.
And former Boston Celtics great Bill Russell was in the crowd.
Bey looked appropriately glam in a black floor-length Emilio Pucci gown with all-over floral detailing, a knee-length Christian Dior fur coat, statement emerald earrings, and a matching ring, both from Lorraine Schwartz. Jay showed off his Tom Ford suit and tie (and scarf), and chose not to wear his fur-lined topper.
After watching Obama's second inauguration, Beyonce stepped onto the podium herself to belt out The Star Spangled Banner.
With huge emeralds glinting on her ears, and her finger, the beauty looked moved as she gave a passionate performance.
